What is the NCLEX Examination?
At the completion of nursing school, all graduates are required to take the NCLEX examination in order to practice as an entry-level licensed RN or LPN in the United States. The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX)for Registered Nurses is used by state and territorial boards of nursing to assist in making licensure decisions. It is develop by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
What does the NCLEX examination cover?
According to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, the NCLEX examination (2004 NCLEX-RN Test Plan) covers the following "categories of client needs".
